New cabinets can transform the look of your kitchen like no other one remodeling element. They can take a tired, dated room and make it look like you've spent thousands and thousands of dollars on a fantasy kitchen. However, new cabinets can require significant investment, making them unaffordable for many homeowners. If you're tired of your existing kitchen’s look, but don't have the money in your budget for all new cabinets, Cabinet Refacing can give new life to your existing cabinetry and make your kitchen look new again.
What is Cabinet Refacing?
Cabinet refacing refers to a process of giving your cabinets a "face-lift" rather than replacing the entire set of cabinets. With refacing, the cabinet doors—and usually the hardware—are replaced. In addition, any exposed wooden frame pieces are covered with a new veneer. This gives your kitchen an entirely new look for a fraction of the cost.
Benefits of Cabinet Refacing
Although the chief benefit to cabinet refacing is that it saves a considerable amount of money when compared to buying all new cabinets, cost is not the only advantage to having your cabinets refaced rather than replacing them. Below are just a few other benefits to consider:
Refacing takes less time.
Instead of taking your whole kitchen apart to install new cabinets, refacing leaves much of the existing cabinets in place, so the job can be finished more quickly and get you into your new kitchen sooner.
Refacing is less messy.
Because the contractors don't have to pull the old cabinets off of the walls, refacing is much less disruptive and creates much less dust and debris than replacing the cabinets would.
Refacing is good for the environment.
Refacing is essentially recycling. You're using most of the existing cabinets, so fewer trees have to be cut down to make your new cabinets and fewer old parts get sent to the landfill.

I cannot recommend Jim enough! He helped us remodel our kitchen recently and even though we really had NO idea what we were doing, Jim was there every step of the way. He answered our many questions with the patience a kindergarten teacher shows her students. He made suggestions to help us update our kitchen and remain in budget. As Jim walked around the room it was as I f he was already seeing the finished room and not even noticing the original (and dated) look it had. His pride is his work is evident in all his attention to detail. Each day Jim arrived and covered/prepped his work area and every afternoon he cleaned and put things away. The only way you knew he had been there was the upgrades he left behind. Jim even provided outstanding recommendations for floor, tile, and painting professionals to help add the finishing touches to our dream kitchen. He even helped us “trim” a cabinet over the fridge so that our new (taller) fridge would fit after he was finished with the rest of our kitchen. You won’t go wrong hiring him for your remodeling needs!
Jim recently helped me remodel my kitchen. I had a particular vision and he helped me every step of the way. It can be an overwhelming task, but he made it fun never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. Jim obviously enjoys what he does and takes care in the process. I never had to worry about him showing up or leaving a mess. In the end, I have the perfect kitchen.
I am loving my new bathroom/kitchen granite counter tops and sinks. Jim did a fantastic job with this project. He is a professional in every aspect, great skills, knowledgeable, and very good communications skills. Not a question or call went unanswered. Very helpful in the whole process of counter tops, plumbing, cabinet work. I highly recommend him for any type of construction/remodel work you might need. I will definitely will call him for work in the near future.
A friend of mine referred me to Mr Ferrell to redo my kitchen . Remodeling can be overwhelming with all the decisions, but he helped me through the process. He was clean, on time and it went smoothly. It also helped that he has a good personality so I never felt intimated for asking questions. He really did an amazing job making the kitchen mine. I would definitely recommend calling him.
My husband and I were looking to do a kitchen renovation, mostly a face-lift (not a complete remodel). After a really rough few meetings with a contractor that was referred to us, I went online and found Jim's website for Fine Line Construction. I called and spoke to Jim and told him what I was looking to do and we scheduled a time for him to come and see our kitchen and talk about options. What I loved so much is that we mostly wanted to refurbish our current cabinets, replace cabinet doors and drawers with a more modern style, replace counter tops, a new sink, and enclose the space between the ceiling and our cabinet tops. What I thought was amazing was that Jim handled a few aspects and then he just recommended someone to do new back splash for us and he recommended someone he works with often to refurbish the cabinets. This allowed me to contact the people he referred me to, receive quotes directly from them and schedule to get the job done.
This was so much easier than working with a general contractor who would typically put together a package price for him to contract with individuals to get everything done. I was so happy with the process working with Jim because it allowed us to stay within our budget and have as much control as we wanted related to the kitchen renovation.
The project stayed on schedule and the only time we were off schedule was ultimately because we decided to do a few "add-ons" during this project. I absolutely love my new kitchen and our first floor looks completely different solely because we tackled this renovation. Thanks to Jim for all of his work and helping us with our first renovation project.
Jim did extensive work in our kitchen and we were very pleased. He is a very punctual and professional. I am thankful for being referred to Jim. He is extremely easy to work with, and I would recommend and use him again. - Reviews from Google Maps

I've had the pleasure of working with Jim several times now, both for my personal home and professionally for someone else's, since I had the good fortune of meeting him last year. Jim is a bit of a Renaissance man--he knows how to do a lot of things with ease and precision and has the best positive attitude of any contractor I've ever met. He is fair in his pricing and I've always been thrilled with his results. Don't hesitate to work with him. Thanks for everything, Jim! Hope to work with you again soon! - Reviews from Google Maps
Jim is an amazing man to work with. He is a very talented finish carpenter and will execute on your project with precision expertise. Above and beyond that, Jim: keeps his appointments, is on time, cleans as he goes and (most importantly to us) communicates clearly and often. Jim is very open on what is and is not in his "wheel house", he will tell you what he can and cannot do. This allows him to focus his talents and create an excellent outcome for the customer. We had him completely remodel a powder room and our kitchen island and bar with wainscoting and they look like new rooms in a new home! He reviews options with you in the beginning of the project and along the way to ensure your satisfaction. Jim pays attention to the details that you may miss, but that matter to the project. We strongly recommend him for any home remodeling project that you may have. - Reviews from Google Maps
